Merritt Townsend
works independantly as our Social Networking and Outside Marketing Representative. Having a long history in the offroad motorsports industry, as several year co-driver and pitcrew, Merritt made a great fit with our team. Though he often sits desk-side in our Vista Store, he is one of the most active chase crew members for our race department - and enjoys prepping and prerunning with the SRD fleet.
Duywane Harris
is a contracted Fabrication and Design Expert and mechanic at SRD's Vista Shop. Formerly a Demolition Specialist, Anti-Tank assaultman for the US Marine Corps, his work ethic and drive has proven to be a huge asset to all facets of our team. While working and continuing his education in Criminal Justice as a full time college student, Duwayne also finds time to build his 1966 F100 that will join SRD's racing arsenal in the local So. Cal deserts in Class 1450.
In a recent interview regarding his job, Duwayne commented, "Building and driving off-road vehicles has been a life-long hobby of mine,
I absolutely love what I do."
Justin Herrmann
founded Strategic Racing Designs with his wife in January of 2007 after retiring from his professional motocross career and moving into the offroad racing arena. Having grown up in an extremely competitive atmosphere, his determination and skillset were the perfect combination for the challenging enterpreneurial task.
Justin plays a large role in both the racing and fabrication departments, leading the build and design team in the shop, and representing SRD in the top competing classes of several desert series. He holds multiple Diesel Technology Certifications, as well as those in Welding Technology, Computer Aided Drafting, and General Automotive abilities.
Heather Herrmann
has been immersed in the offroad industry for most of her life, recreating with her family across the US West Coast. In 2007 she and Justin, with the consultation and financial assistance from long time supporter and father, Jeff Smith, decided to take on the exciting new role as business owners in the industry she loved. While wearing a variety of hats, as Co-owner, Chief of Operations, and Race Team Manager, Heather also branched out to incorporate an additional Graphic Design sector of SRD. She continues to complete her degree in Human Development as a full time student but is most excited about expanding in her racing career. With thousands of miles of offroad driving experience, and a long history of riding dirtbikes, over some of the world's most grueling terrain, she looks forward to future competiton in the team's 5/1600 vehicle - which she will alternate piloting with her husband and dad.
